Taking
hopeful action
One or the best hedges
against despair is to get together with others and work on the problem
you are facing. If the problem is huge, this need to unite in action is
even greater. It’s true that while many of us are used to helping our
loved ones, we are not accustomed to caring for the larger community.
However, I think this kind of individualism is just a bad habit our
competitive society has encouraged. We can (and in fact, have to) make a
different choice now. I have found the benefits to be immediate. Much
